Senegalese Education Minister: I will send my daughter to Turkish schools

DAKAR
The Senegalese Minister of Education Mbaye Thiam paid a visit to Yavuz Sultan Selim Schools, founded by Turkish entrepreneurs and recognized highly across the country. Thiam said the schools, which produce champions annually in the nationwide university entrance exams, have had an indisputable success to date across the country.
The minister said the schools also introduced Turkey to Senegalese people. “I would like to send my daughter to these schools next year. The other private and public schools alike should take these schools as role models.”
Following a conference on health and hygiene at school environment, jointly organized by Cheikh Anta Diop University and Yavuz Selim Schools, the minister took a tour at Sultan School for Girls.
Established in 1997 by Turkish entrepreneurs, Yavuz Selim Schools currently offer education to over 2,000 students.

Nigeria: Turkish international college constructs 90 hand pumps, boreholes in local communities
The Nigerian Turkish International College NTIC has constructed over 90 hand pumps and electric motorized boreholes in many villages, hamlets and schools within Kaduna state in Nigeria the last four years of its existence. Davud Sagir, the director for the college in Kaduna says that it is not only part of their corporate social responsibility, but their duty to provide assistance in education, medicare, and charitable causes in the society.
A notable award for Mongolian-Turkish schools
At a ceremony recently held at Sunjin Grand Hotel in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s 50 most effective institutions were presented their awards. In recognition of their achievements and contributions, Empathy Educational Institutions, active for about 20 years in Mongolia, were honored with “Top Standard” award among the most effective institutions.

All the parents were depressed and disappointed at the forced exit of Turkish staff. They looked sad with tearful eyes bade farewell to the Turkish staff. Mr. Osman Arslanhan along with the other Turkish staff made a symbolic burial of a heart which was full of hearty wishes of the Turkish staff and drawings made by the Turkish children. The heart was buried with tears in the eyes by all the Turkish staff.
