Fethullah Gulen’s Message of Condemnation and Condolences for St. Petersburg Terrorist Attack

I strongly condemn the brutal terrorist attack Monday on the metro in St. Petersburg, Russia, which cost the lives of 11 people and injured dozens more.

Words fail to express my sorrow at the loss of innocent lives and suffering of their loved ones. I share my deepest condolences with the victims’ families and the people of Russia. I wish for the quick recovery of the wounded.

I reiterate my unconditional condemnation of this and other acts of violence that inﬂict pain on innocent people. This is an attack not only against the people of Russia but also against humanity. We should all stand in solidarity as members of the human family against such deplorable acts of terrorism.

I pray to God, the Most Compassionate, to lead humanity to a world of peace and tranquility.

Fethullah Gülen’s Eid message: Let’s pray for each other

Turkish American community paid visit to Fethullah Gülen to greet him for the Eid al Adha, which is a major Islamic festival. Following the supplication, Gülen talked to his guest briefly and said: “Let’s pray for each other with deep iman (belief), ma’rifa (Spiritual Knowledge of God), and mahabba (love); let’s include all humanity in our prayers, starting from the people in closest circles; let’s be inclusive and embracing in our prayers.”

A US judge has dismissed a human rights lawsuit against Fethullah Gülen, a US-based Turkish cleric who is a former ally turned prominent critic of his home country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The lawsuit, funded by Turkey, had claimed the Muslim cleric in Pennsylvania orchestrated human rights abuses in his native Turkey.
