Kimse Yok Mu Foundation tasked its rescue team ASYA to the flood-ridden Bosnia. The foundation also delivered initially 75 million dollar assistance to the region, troubled with the most disastrous rainfall of the past 120 years.
The rains affected 1 million 200 thousand Bosnians. KYM rescue team immediately arrived in the region to reach out to the victims. The four-member team has started to give away assistance of food, blankets, hygiene and cleaning products, KYM’s director of international aid Yusuf Yildirim reported. Yildirim also revealed that a truckload of aid was to depart for Bosnia the following day. The foundation intends to continue its assistance for the Bosnians by following up with permanent aid efforts including housing.
Ertugrul Yorguner, the KYM team leader, spoke to Cihan: “A total of 14 cities by Bosnia and Tuna rivers have been affected by the flood. The victims have been seeking refuge in their relatives living in neighboring settlements. We have started giving away aid parcels today and been waiting for the aid truck on its way from Turkey. We’ll deliver the aid to wherever it’s needed.”

Kimse Yok Mu trains flood victim Pakistani women for a job
Kimse Yok Mu Foundation (KYM) continues to heal the wounds after the devastating flood in 2010 in Pakistan. The foundation earlier built the Ikbaliye town home to 296 families in the city of Muzaffargah. Now it’s offering vocational classes to the town’s women. 20 women received their certificates after completing 3 month-long sewing classes.
UN and Turkish charity provide 17,000 Syrian refugees with financial aid
Up to 17,000 Syrian refugees living in difficult conditions, some of them begging on the streets, outside of camps established in Turkey for Syrians will be able to benefit for two months from the project Kimse Yok Mu is conducting in cooperation with the UNHCR.
Corruption probe [in Turkey]
Radikal’s Cüneyt Özdemir said that even if some people interpret the corruption operation as a manifestation of the rift between the Hizmet movement and the government, it does not reduce the importance and seriousness of the allegations directed against the detainees. “The fact that it involves the general manager of a state-run bank and the sons of three ministers shows us the importance of this investigation,” he said.
