Turkish Olympiad held in Philippines enchants audience

Turkish Olympiad and a culture festival, held jointly by Philippian Tourism Ministry and Turkish schools in Philippines, impressed the audience a lot with performances of the students.
Students from Fountain International Turkish School and Tolerance International Turkish School competed in three areas; sing, poem and folk dance. During the event, Maria Rowena Sanchez who is Philippian ambassador to Turkey, made a speech. “This program, held by the people from different language, religion and culture, shows us what is important is love in heart not the differences among us,” said Sanchez adding that he extended his thanks to devoted teachers in Turkish schools.
Students performed well-known Turkish songs during the event and performed folk dances successfully. At the end of the show, audiences expressed their pleasure with the performances of the students.
Nigerian federal gov’t on arrested students: Turkey on a vendetta mission
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaye, has said that the Nigerian students who were arrested in Turkey for an alleged role in the July coup attempt in Turkey may have been paying for the refusal of the Nigerian government to shut down some Turkish schools and institutions in Nigeria.
Yamanlar and Fatih High Schools’ success at International Science Olympiads
Yamanlar and Fatih Science High Schools won medals at the international physics, chemistry, biology and computer this summer as well. Sebahattin Kasap, CEO of Yamanlar Education Institutions, said; “207 out of 391 medals won so far at the international Olympiads by Turkish student won by Yamanlar Science High School students. We are happy to represent Turkey successfully”.
Samanyolu high school wins gold medal in TÜBİTAK contest
Samanyolu Science High School students Sadık Said Kasap and Onur Sulak won the gold medal among 24 final contenders whose work was chosen out of 1,156 projects. Kasap and Sulak stated that they had been working on their project for the last eight months and that they had striven to make a contribution to the world of mathematics.
Turkish school student project among global finalists of 2015 Google Science Fair
A project by students from a Turkish school in Bosnia called “Catch it on the Wing,” which is designed to produce hydrogen storage material and biodiesel from chicken feathers, is among the 20 global finalists at the 2015 google science fair.
Current defamation campaign against Hizmet was part of Ergenekon scheme
A major campaign launched by the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government and media organs to defame and discredit the Hizmet movement was among the plans of the Ergenekon network, which once attempted a coup d’état against the AK Party.
“Peace and Sustainable Development: A Two-Way Relationship” Panel
Mr. Huseyin Hurmali, Vice-President of the JWF emphasized and explained how civil initiatives inspired by scholar Fethullah Gulen have been contributing to both durable peace and sustainable development in about 160 countries around the world. Schools, universities and other educational institutions have been providing high quality science and mathematics education and also contributing to peace through becoming entities of “social mediation” in the regions of conflict.
