Turkish Olympiad held in Philippines enchants audience

Turkish Olympiad and a culture festival, held jointly by Philippian Tourism Ministry and Turkish schools in Philippines, impressed the audience a lot with performances of the students.
Students from Fountain International Turkish School and Tolerance International Turkish School competed in three areas; sing, poem and folk dance. During the event, Maria Rowena Sanchez who is Philippian ambassador to Turkey, made a speech. “This program, held by the people from different language, religion and culture, shows us what is important is love in heart not the differences among us,” said Sanchez adding that he extended his thanks to devoted teachers in Turkish schools.
Students performed well-known Turkish songs during the event and performed folk dances successfully. At the end of the show, audiences expressed their pleasure with the performances of the students.
Extradition of Turkish Citizens: Moldova to pay 125,000 euros in damages for rights violations
Almost one year has passed since seven Turkish citizens working at a high school were extradited from the Republic of Moldova. Since then, their case was brought before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and Moldova was forced to pay 125,000 euros in damages for rights violations.

The new campus, to be comprised of two schools buildings and a dorm, is rising on nearly 3.4 acres. Established in 2002, the Turkish schools in Mali are currently offering education to some 2 thousand students in the West African country.
Brazilian senator impressed by Hizmet investments in education
Respected Brazilian senator and Professor Cristovam Buarque, well known for his dedication to education, told Sunday’s Zaman during a visit to İstanbul that he has been impressed by the investments of Turkish businessmen who are inspired by the Gülen movement, also known as the Hizmet movement, in education even without an expectation of profit.
Student from Pak-Turk school to represent Pakistan
A Pakistani-Turkish school student will represent Pakistan in an international science Olympiad in the US. Habibullah Hal Muhammad from Lahore’s Pak-Turk International School and College was named Intel grand winner in a project competition held on Tuesday as part of the Intel National Science Fair. His project, “Organic Battery,” will represent Pakistan at the International Science and Engineering Fair 2011 in Los Angeles, California.
