Turkish Olympiad held in Philippines enchants audience

Turkish Olympiad and a culture festival, held jointly by Philippian Tourism Ministry and Turkish schools in Philippines, impressed the audience a lot with performances of the students.
Students from Fountain International Turkish School and Tolerance International Turkish School competed in three areas; sing, poem and folk dance. During the event, Maria Rowena Sanchez who is Philippian ambassador to Turkey, made a speech. “This program, held by the people from different language, religion and culture, shows us what is important is love in heart not the differences among us,” said Sanchez adding that he extended his thanks to devoted teachers in Turkish schools.
Students performed well-known Turkish songs during the event and performed folk dances successfully. At the end of the show, audiences expressed their pleasure with the performances of the students.
African Union Commission chair visits Turkish school
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, paid a visit to a Turkish school established by volunteers of the Gülen movement, which is inspired by the teachings of Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, in the South African city of Durban, saying its students are “privileged” to be educated there.
Serbian torture base now houses Turkish school
A building once a command base used to torture Bosnian prisoners is now serving as a Turkish school to educate Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian students under same roof.
Suspicious raid against Hizmet-affiliated highschool famous for its success
The raid came just two days after Turkey’s Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) announced the results of the Higher Education Entrance Examination (YGS), which revealed that students from Gülen-inspired schools are among the top scorers of the exam, casting doubt on the objectivity of the raid.
Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Reject Turkish Calls to Close Gülen Schools
Kazakh authorities said the Gülen schools would remain open. In a statement, the Education Ministry said “These schools (27) will be working as they used to.” The schools were established through a bilateral deal signed by Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev and then-Turkish President Turgut Özal shortly after independence, according to Akipress. Both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are remaining firm that they will not bend to Ankara’s will on this issue.
Graduation ceremony of Pak-Turk school held
Pak-Turk International School and College is the only institution in Quetta where the students get modern education. The schooling system should be launched in other districts of the province, so that more children could get education and increase the rate of literacy of the province.
