Hizmet Relief, shortly after changing its name, starts aid campaigns one after another. It finishes the “Cataract Campaign” and rushes to finalize “Water Wells Campaign.”
The cataract campaign started in July, the Hizmet Relief had targeted to collect $10,000 to treat 100 people. $300 more was collected, which will give 103 people their eyesight back.
The money collected will be used on the cataract operations immediately. Water Wells Campaign has just been announced to ease the difficulty of obtaining drinking water in Senegal, Niger, Somali, Chad and Cameroon.
As the droughts get worse, even drought-resistant camels are beginning to die. The death of the camels is an alarming sign that other less resistant wild life are in greater danger. This is even worse for people living in these regions because they have almost no drinking water.
As human beings we should keep helping those who are in need. The locals living in these regions cannot even obtain clean water, let alone drinking water, due to droughts, lack of infrastructure and past conflicts. Hizmet Relief plans to open 20 water wells by the end of the 2014. Each well costs about $7,500.
