Fethullah Gülen’s Message of Condolences for Those Who Lost Their Lives During Gaza Protests
Date posted: May 16, 2018
Fethullah Gülen
I am shocked and deeply saddened by the outbreak of violence on the Gaza border, which resulted in the death of more than 50 and injury of thousands more.
I urge Israel to stop shooting at civilians and to respect the right to peaceful protest. The protection of civilians and children should be ensured to prevent more casualties. This incident only reinforces the need to raise the social consciousness all around the world so that every human life is valued equally and every person is committed to the dignity of all members of the human family.
I extend my deepest condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, and I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. I pray to God, the Most Compassionate, to lead the world to days of peace and tranquility when people can live with mutual understanding and respect.
Distortions of the truth and outright lies by Erdoğan regarding the economy, the Gezi protests, the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), prosecutors and investigations by prosecutors, the graft investigation and the Hizmet movement are some of what is making Erdoğan’s rhetoric questionable.

Hakan Şükür’s resignation
The resignation of İstanbul deputy Hakan Şükür from his ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is not an ordinary resignation. It is the most serious incident that disrupts the prestige of the AK Party in the eyes of pious voters.
Şükür’s statement about his resignation must be carefully studied. This statement explains the Hizmet movement’s perspective regarding the recent row between the government and the Hizmet community for the first time and with a clear wording.
Why should education in Pakistan be held hostage to the politics of other countries, however brotherly?
If Pakistan does indeed give in to pressure from the Turkish government, the move will be ironic, given the number of madressahs currently operating in the country with established links to political, religious or denominational movements that have a more than suspected record of terrorism, violence and spurious religious indoctrination.
Fethullah Gulen condemns the coup attempt in Turkey
I condemn, in the strongest terms, the attempted military coup in Turkey. Government should be won through a process of free and fair elections, not force.
Fethullah Gulen talking about Turkey’s failed coup: Responses to Philadelphia World Affairs Council
Right now, all critical voices are silenced in Turkey and only the voice of those in power is heard. Consequently both Turkish people and outside observers are misled. The misperception about the coup continues because there is only one voice. The government interprets everything according to their calculations. They are using this event to express the antipathy they already had against Hizmet movement. The coup attempt is serving to justify their plans to persecute Hizmet movement.
