Turkey Coup: Fethulah Gulen Is Not A Terrorist

Date posted: September 8, 2016

The G20 meeting which held in China early this week created a platform for the U. S. President Barrack Obama and his counterpart President Recep Erdogan of Turkey to meet for the first time after the July 15 coup attempt in Turkey.

There were speculations and assumptions by political watchers and some school of thoughts on the agenda of Obama and Erdogan’s meeting in China, though it was highlighted beforehand that the failed coup and the campaign against terrorist organizations would be top on the agenda.

Fethulah Gulen did not fall from the sky or moon, he has a history that is in the public domain, the question is why did it take Erdogan too long to realize that Gulen is a terrorist? All through the years of robust relationship between Fethulah and Erdogan there was no accusation that Gulen was a terrorist, why now?

President Obama took time to restate the position of the US, on the bilateral relationship between the two countries. ” This is the first opportunity that I’ve had to meet face to face with President Erdogan since the terrible attempted coup that took place in July.  By taking to the streets to resist the coup attempt, the Turkish people once again affirmed their commitment to democracy, and the strength and resilience of the democratic institutions inside of Turkey”.

Obama continued , “I also had the opportunity to express my deepest condolences for those killed and wounded by recent terrorist attacks in Turkey, which sadly have become too common an occurrence, just as they have all around the world.  And in the face of these savage attacks, not only do we stand with Turkey and the people of Turkey and express our sympathy for them, but, more importantly, we want to take actions to ensure that together, we are defeating the scourge of terrorism”.

But, the deviant Erdogan named Fethulah Gulen and the Hizmet movement among the terrorist groups that the coalition fight against terrorists will eliminate. He said, “And at the same time, with regards to the Fethullahist terrorist organization, our operations are underway within the framework of the rule of law.  Against this terrorist, before the coup attempt, we had put together some documentation, amassed some evidence, which we have submitted to the United States.  And the post-coup-attempt-related documentation and evidence therein will be amassed and they will be submitted to our friends in the United States. The efforts are still underway”.

The above was the remarks and pronouncements by a sitting president of a country; still gathering evidences and submitting evidence for investigation against a person or group of people you have already pronounced a terrorist group.

It is sad that rather than get leaders to emancipate the people from squalor and bondage, the world is producing tyrants and emperors whose interest never gets beyond their comforts and satisfaction.

Again, they are blinded by the affluence and power that is mirrored in the throne room and the fake prophesies and solutions proffered by their aides, who are misleading and spells doom for the people and country.

We are to be careful with some of these people who parade themselves as rulers and Presidents, Prime ministers and Kings. Gone are the days where God speaks to the people through their kings and prophets, what we now have is a bunch of deceitful and evil rulers who are prepared to do anything to remain in power.

Erdogan did not challenge U. S. Vice President Joe Biden when he said up to the time of his visit to Turkey last week there has not been any evidence presented by security agencies and investigators about the masterminds of the failed coup, but Erdogan has rather preferred to go to China, at the G20 meeting to say Turkey has gathered evidences and forwarded to their friends in the U. S.

An Islamic scholar and cleric seeking to address the ills and vices in the society, strengthening learning and education, developing the health and social sectors as well as addressing inequality and justice amongst the citizens.

Erdogan has succeeded in diverting attention through the protracted investigations into the masterminds of the coup, no one talks about his alleged plot to perpetuate himself in office through tenure elongation.

Very close to the July coup, the Turkish people wanted Erdogan out of office for infringed rights and outright violations of the provisions of the constitution and ruling by fiat without recourse to the parliament.

But as you can see his administration is prepared to spend many years investigating the staged managed coup in Turkey looking for evidence they know does not exist, do you pronounce death or jail term upon a fellow who have not been tried by the courts? That is what Turkey is doing to Gulen, naming him as the person behind the plot before gathering evidence against him.

WaPo publishes editorial from Fethullah Gulen on the day Erdogan meets Trump

If nothing else, the timing of this is certainly interesting. Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Washington for his meeting with President Trump scheduled for later today. It’s an encounter which I already described as problematic at best, given Erdogan’s new status as a strongman and tyrant, and it doesn’t seem to hold the promise of much benefit on our part.

Gulen, a Secret Cardinal?

The Turkish government needs to understand that this kind of crazy makes it much less likely that the U.S. will extradite Gulen. His lawyers can point to this kind of demented paranoia as evidence that the Turkish justice system can’t be trusted to give him a fair trial. Most U.S. judges are likely to agree.
