Turkish charity dedicates well in Africa to brutally killed Özgecan Aslan
The Turkish charity organization Kimse Yok Mu (Is Anybody There?) constructed in a small town in one of Africa's poorest countries, Chad, dedicated to the memory of Özgecan Aslan, who was brutally murdered in Mersin province on Feb. 11.

The well was built in Mandelia town near Chad’s capital N’Djamena. Constructed with the support of Kimse Yok Mu, the well will supply clean drinking water to thousands of women who previously were hauling their water on foot for miles.
20-year-old university student Özgecan Aslan was brutally murdered and then doused in gasoline and set on fire in the southern city of Mersin on Feb. 11. The missing woman’s charred body was discovered two days later, and the grisly murder evoked rage and condemnation from all quarters of Turkey.
Aslan’s murder shook Turkey to its core, resulting in nationwide mourning with protests in cities all over the country.
Özgecan Aslan was laid to rest on Feb. 14 with a ceremony that was attended by an estimated 5,000 mourners in Mersin.
Turkish NGO “Kimse Yok Mu” Association sent 150 truck laden aid to Syrians sheltered in southeastern Turkey. “Love is a Verb” is a film examining a social movement of Sufi-inspired Muslims that began in Turkey in the 1960s and now reaches across the globe. The group is called Hizmet – the Turkish word for service – or The Gulen Movement, after its inspiration, leader and beloved teacher Fethullah Gulen – a man Time Magazine named as one of the most influential leaders in the world in 2013.
Gülen offers condolences for police officer, resident
Gülen said in a statement on Friday that Turkey’s “atmosphere is being spoiled with rancor and hatred” and that the country needs a nationwide return to common sense and security above all else.
Japanese students assist Syrian refugees in Turkey
A group of Japanese university students and professors recently came to Turkey to provide educational assistance to Syrian refugees, according to Turkish news sources on Tuesday. The volunteer group, which came to Turkey through the agency of charity Kimse Yok Mu, consisted of 15 students and professors from Meiji Gakuin University.
Kimse Yok Mu flies back 210 Somali students
Kimse Yok Mu Foundation, active in 110 countries worldwide, has brought back its 210 Somali students who were on vacation in their country. The students studying at various high schools and universities across Turkey were happy to be back.
Turkish foundation drills 1,000 boreholes for Nigerian communities
Mr Cemal Yigit, President, Association of Turkish People in Nigeria (ATPEN) said the Nigerian Turkish International College (NTIC) Foundation, an NGO has drilled over 1, 000 boreholes for communities across Nigeria. He said that communities in Yobe and Ogun states were among the beneficiaries of the boreholes.
