High competition for Fezalar Institution in North Iraq

The competition is high for students who are looking to attend the Fezalar Educational Institution in northern Iraq. 7,250 students have applied for the entrance exam, however, only 650 seats are available for new students.
The institution was founded nearly 14 years ago in Turkiye. Since then, it has branched out to five countries, including its newest location in Iraq. Many students are looking to attend the school because of the opportunities it offers for education in the war-battered country.
The tests are being offered in three different places and are expected to last two hours. 170 teachers and 110 graduates have been assigned to the centers to proctor the exams.
The vice General Manager of Fezalar Educational Institutions Fatih Cingoz thanked the locals for their interest.
Fatih Cingoz, FEZALAR Educational Institution said:
“Our teachers have been praised by the people of northern Iraq since the teachers attentively teach their students and care about them. And also the trust of the people of northern Iraq toward Turkiye is a positive effect in our success.” Cingoz also said the schools give grants to the students in need.

‘Don’t link Thai schools with terrorists’
Thailand’s foreign ministry has cautioned against any rush to link four Thailand-based schools to a terrorist organization just because they have a handful of foreign shareholders. “We have been in touch with the embassy to request legally recognised and reliable evidence. But we have not received any additional information to date,” Thai foreign ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee, said yesterday.

The success of Gülen movement schools stems both from the success of the students (and the satisfaction of the parents) and from the prestige and goodwill they enjoy among local and political authorities for promoting integration and acting as a social mediator.
Turkish Kimse Yok Mu volunteers staying months to help survivors
The members of Kimse Yok Mu Foundation were the first group among dozens of international humanitarian groups that have descended to Tacloban City, of Philippines, which bore the brunt of the world’s strongest typhoon recorded this year. Kimse Yok Mu Foundation was able to collect $2 million and was still receiving donations for Haiyan victims, said Kurkcu. The foundation was organized in 1999, just months after Turkey was hit by a devastating earthquake that killed more than 17,000 people.
