Fethullah Gülen calls on Muslims in the US to pray against Sandy

Date posted: November 2, 2012

Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen has expressed his deep sorrow over the devastating effects of Superstorm Sandy, called on Muslims in the US to pray and reportedly wrote a blessing and prayer against the storm before the US East Coast was hit by the monster storm, on Monday. Gülen lives in Pennsylvania, which was among the states hit by Sandy.

Hurricane Sandy, which was later downgraded to a Superstorm Sandy, churned across Pennsylvania after ravaging New Jersey and lower Manhattan in New York.

The prayer written by Gülen against the storm was posted on herkul.org with a note. In the note it says Gülen and those who were with him during those days give their thanks to people who expressed their concerns for the health of the Islamic scholar as Sandy swept the US East Coast on Monday.

The note also said Gülen wrote a prayer against Sandy and told his friends to pray to Allah for less damage in the state as officials expected the storm could inflict serious damage on Pennsylvania.
