Gulen’s “Messenger of God: Muhammad” sold out at Buenos Aires book fair

The 40th annual book fair in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires drew a remarkable interest from book enthusiasts. The local Turkish Cultural Centre participated in the event with its Turkey booth.
The Argentinians had the opportunity to explore Islam and the Hizmet Movement. The Spanish translation of the Qur’an, Turkish cuisine recipes and translations of Fethullah Gulen’s books, in particular, were in high demand. Among them, the Qur’an translations and Gulen’s “Messenger of God: Prophet Muhammad” were sold out before the fair came to an end. On the final day of the fair, the Spanish magazine Cascada’s editor-in-chief Suleyman Kocabiyik gave a presentation on their publications. Kocabiyik spoke on Cascade magazine, Fethullah Gulen and Hizmet Movement and addressed the questions in Q-and-A session.

Reza Aslan, a Muslim American writer, scholar of religion and author of the international bestseller “No god but God: The Origins, Evolution, and Future of Islam” slammed comedian Bill Maher and CNN anchors Don Lemon and Alisyn Camerota for their simplifications of Islam. He also concluded that their rhetoric amounted to bigotry.
Turkish Olympiad held in Philippines enchants audience
During the event, Maria Rowena Sanchez who is Philippian ambassador to Turkey, made a speech. “This program, held by the people from different language, religion and culture, shows us what is important is love in heart not the differences among us,” said Sanchez adding that he extended his thanks to devoted teachers in Turkish schools.
Philippine education minister invites Turks to open more schools in his country
Philippine Minister of Education Armin Altamirano Luistro, attending a dinner organized by a Turkish foundation in Manila on Sunday evening, has invited more Turks to open new schools in his country. Sharing his feelings Mr. Luistro gave a message of intercultural dialogue. He said: “The speaker from Turkey Dr. Ahmet Muharrem Atlığ, is an Islamic religious scholar. And I am a Christian scholar. We talked about the same things during our speeches.
Erdoğan’s harsh, xenophobic rhetoric damages fight against Islamophobia
