UN praises Kimse Yok Mu for aid efforts in Somalia

Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) John Ging said in an interview on Thursday that Kimse Yok Mu and other Turkish NGOs’ aid efforts in Somalia should be praised.
On a three-day visit to Somalia, Ging talked to the Cihan News Agency and said that Turkish NGOs are doing a great job in Somalia.
“During my visit to Somalia, I have had the chance to meet with some Turkish NGO officials. Turkish camps in Somalia have the highest standards and everybody knows this. They are doing a great job in the fields of healthcare, education and food aid. We, as the UN, appreciate the work that they are doing,” Ging said.
Kimse Yok Mu, which now reaches out to different regions of the world affected by catastrophes, is recognized by the Republic of Turkey as an association that works for the public interest. The status was accorded by Cabinet decree No. 2006-9982 on Jan. 19, 2006, with the approval of the president at the time.
Turkish charities take benevolence across borders during Eid al-Adha
Turkish charities knew no borders in spreading benevolence across continents during the four-day Eid al-Adha festival, sacrificing animals, packaging the meat and distributing it and other forms of assistance to the less fortunate in many countries of the world. They distributed food, clothing, money and other forms of assistance to the poor in most of Turkey’s 81 provinces and in more than 120 nations around the world.
African Union, Kimse Yok Mu Sign Landmark Agreement
Turkish charity organization Kimse Yok Mu (KYM) has signed a landmark agreement with the African Union (AU), paving way for close cooperation between the two entities to further aid education and development efforts in Africa.
Romanian-Turkish Schools gear up for flood survivors
Romanian-Turkish Schools’ students donated their pocket money for the past month’s flood survivors in the eastern Romania. Moreover, the students delivered the aid in person to those living in trailer houses. The aid recipients who lamented desolation more than the sufferings the flood caused were in tears upon receiving the supplies.

Despite the fact that Turkey has recently adopted legislation against hate crimes, Turkey’s divisive Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has not stopped his attacks with verbal expressions of intolerance and hatred directed at the judiciary, opposition parties, the media, business groups and members of the Hizmet movement, a faith-based civic movement inspired by Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen.

Calling out “Fill up your umbrella of mercy with the abundance of sharing” throughout the month of Ramadan, Kimse Yok Mu Foundation shared the Eid al-Fitr joy with the needy in 110 countries on 5 continents, particularly in Turkey.
