Preventing Disease: Turkish charity donates 22 wells to Pakistan

Turkish charity Kimse Yok Mu – that translates to “is anybody there?” – has dug 22 wells in Pakistan to help people meet their needs for better access to water.
Droughts, a lack of infrastructure and internal conflict have made many sources for clean water inaccessible in various parts of the country. The charity has dug 11 new wells in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), 10 wells in Balochistan and one in Punjab, providing access to drinking water for 50,000 people.
According to Kimse Yok Mu, water sources are contaminated because animals and people often share the same water, leading to the spread of disease. The organisation is planning to provide more wells to people in around 200 settlements where animals and people share water.

Ahmet, 27, agrees. He says that, when studying at a Gülen school, “for the first time we saw teachers caring for us. They were prepared to do more than to teach. They were making an extra effort for us, showing exemplary behaviour, such as rushing to help when a school boy got sick, finding medicine for him.
Turkish charity Kimse Yok Mu drills 1,396 wells in Africa
A total of 1,396 wells have been drilled in 13 African countries since Nov. 1, 2014, as part of a project called “Selsebil Water Wells,” which was launched by Turkish charitable organization Kimse Yok Mu in 2011, in cooperation with Fatih University students and Genç-İz Academy Association members.
Kimse Yok Mu distributes heating stoves in Mongolia
Kimse Yok Mu Foundation (KYM) recently gave away heating stoves to the needy in Mongolia. The recipient Mongolians in Erdenet city, located 400 km away from the capital Ulan Bator, expressed thanks to the foundation officials.
