Preventing Disease: Turkish charity donates 22 wells to Pakistan

Turkish charity Kimse Yok Mu – that translates to “is anybody there?” – has dug 22 wells in Pakistan to help people meet their needs for better access to water.
Droughts, a lack of infrastructure and internal conflict have made many sources for clean water inaccessible in various parts of the country. The charity has dug 11 new wells in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), 10 wells in Balochistan and one in Punjab, providing access to drinking water for 50,000 people.
According to Kimse Yok Mu, water sources are contaminated because animals and people often share the same water, leading to the spread of disease. The organisation is planning to provide more wells to people in around 200 settlements where animals and people share water.

Kimse Yok Mu’s volunteer doctors on their way for Africa
Kimse Yok Mu Foundation unceasingly continues its medical aid efforts for Africa. Joined by its volunteer doctors with an age average under 50, the foundation is set to provide medical assistance for Tanzanians starting from August 29 thru September 7. In cooperation with the Istanbul-based Ufuk Doctors’ Foundation (UHEK), the volunteers will focus mainly on surgeries. The medical team consists of 15 doctors, one nurse and two coordinators. The doctors will volunteer in gynecology, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, in particular, and neurology, dentistry, family practice, psychiatry and psychology departments.
Prosecutors conducting ‘terror’ probe of prominent Turkish charity
A statement recently sent to the charity organization Kimse Yok Mu (Is Anybody There) by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has revealed that the prosecutor’s office has been conducting an investigation against the charity on the charges of “terrorism.”

Inspectors finds no flaw in Kimse Yok Mu activities
A report prepared by inspectors assigned by the Interior Ministry earlier this year clearly states that not a single irregularity was discovered in the activities of the charity organization Kimse Yok Mu at the end of an audit carried out by the ministry’s inspectors.
Lailat al-Miraj marked with prayers for Soma victims across Turkey
After prayers were read for the 301 miners, the Kimse Yok Mu Foundation announced that these miners’ children will be provided with scholarships and educational opportunities. The Kimse Yok Mu Foundation’s Aegean region coordinator, Mesut Arıkanlı, extended the organization’s support to the families of the 301 miners, saying it will always back them.
