Deputy claims Erdoğan prevented medical treatment of Kyrgyz president in Turkey

Kyrgyz deputy Omurbek Tekebayev has claimed in parliament that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan prevented the provision of medical treatment to Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev when he fell ill during a visit to Turkey, according to Kyrgyz news agency KirTAG.
The Kyrgyz deputy argued that Erdoğan resented the Kyrgyz president for refusing to cooperate with him in his witch-hunt against the Gülen movement. When Atambayev got sick while in Turkey in September, Erdoğan ordered hospitals across the country to refuse him medical services. Consequently, Atambayev went to Moscow for treatment through the intervention of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The deputy who made the claim also stated that once Erdoğan turns his back on someone, he would never again consider that person a friend.
Atambayev fell ill in İstanbul before a connecting flight to New York.
Notably, all this comes while the tension between the government, especially Erdoğan himself, and the Gülen Movement is deepening. In fact, both groups form part of the “religious conservatives,” and used to be allies against the old secularist guard. However, their differences have become increasingly pronounced and have resulted recently in an increasingly bitter war of words.

On Hizmet exceptionalism
What is perhaps saddest about this witch-hunt is that Hizmet is a priceless resource for any government. It serves without any burden on public funds and efforts. It is a rich source of reliable manpower devoted to selfless service and ready to raise the banner of Turkey, on peaceful terms, alongside the flags of all other nations around the world. Instead of being propelled by this free energy, and benefitting from its resources, the Turkish government acts in jealousy, and tries to destroy it.
RTÜK suspends 20 SHaber TV shows, harshest penalty of all times
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has suspended 20 TV shows of the Samanyolu Haber TV news channel, its Editor in Chief Metin Yıkar announced via his Twitter account on Saturday.
