Children from across the globe meet in Germany for peace
Forty-six Turkish schools across the globe leave crowds in Germany in awe with their performances during the 13th International Language and Culture Olympics held in Germany.

The talents of 360 students from 46 schools were on display for the crowd of 10,000 gathered at Westfallenahlle complex. The opening ceremony featured figurines symbolizing prominent capitals across the globe including Brussels, Paris and Berlin.
“We hope that this voice rising from Germany will spread across four corners of the globe,” stated host Kemal Gülen.
The Language and Culture Olympics Coordinator Halil Ursavaş said, “We hope the shining light of love and tolerance being sent tonight from Germany will enlighten the world and Turkey.”
Two-time candidate for German presidency, Dr. Gesine Schwan, recieved an award honoring his contributions for forming bridges between cultures.
The highlights of the show included the Tree of Life collage performed by 48 students, and students from Madagascar performing the Turkish folk song of “Dert bende.”
Nepalese surprised at Turkish teachers staying to help after earthquake
A group of Nepalese people, who were offered shelter at Meridian Turkish schools in the country after last Saturday’s devastating earthquake in the country, said on Wednesday that they were surprised and thankful that Turkish teachers did not leave after the earthquake occurred, unlike many other non-Nepalese nationals, according to a report by the Cihan news agency.

The Zaman daily has published documents which reveal that a plot was devised to unjustly hold the members of the Hizmet Movement responsible for a cheating scandal at the State Personnel Examination (KPSS) in 2010.
Unlawful acts revealed in police raids on Gülen-inspired schools
Another illegal practice was revealed on Wednesday regarding police raids on schools inspired by the faith-based Gülen movement, popularly known as the Hizmet movement, on Sept. 21, as officers refused to give a copy of the police report of seized items to school authorities despite demands by the institution’s lawyers.
Kimse Yok Mu lends helping hand to 15,000 Syrians in Suruç
Kimse Yok Mu has sent TL 50 million worth of aid to Syrian Kurds who have fled from the town of Kobane to take refuge in Suruç, a district of Şanlıurfa province. The philanthropic group has distributed 15,000 aid packages to refugees in the week before the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday. Two truckloads of winter clothing were also sent for the coming cold weather.

At home and abroad, Erdogan shoots himself in the foot
On Wednesday, for instance, Erdoğan described members of the Hizmet movement, who are mostly inspired by Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, as an “opposing side” due to their opposition to the closure of prep schools. Erdoğan’s categorization sparked outrage, primarily because the movement has been known as staunch supporters of the government.
