American students volunteer for Kimse Yok Mu aid campaign
Established in 2002, Kimse Yok Mu has involved many projects across the world, focusing on education, social services, medical services, housing, disaster relief, emergency response and sustainable development as well as providing food aid and basic necessities.

American members of international Kimse Yok Mu charity organization distributed aid boxes during the holy month of Ramadan in different parts of İstanbul.
The students went to the homes of needy people and gave them aid boxes. People were surprised when they saw Americans were giving aid boxes of Kimse Yok Mu.
Head of KYM Marmara Region Branch Murat Şenocak stated that they will have distributed 5,000 aid boxes during Ramadan and have distributed around 2,000 so far.
One of the students named Nermina İmsirovic said they had never thought situation of needy people in America and the campaign launched by Kimse Yok Mu is of great importance since such people have no choice to get help.
Alevis voice unease over lack of promised rights at Abant meeting
Alevis have expressed at Abant meeting their uneasiness over pro-government comments claiming that the Gezi Park protests were an “Alevi uprising,” warning against a “dangerous approach that encourages wrong perceptions.” The title of this year’s Abant Platform, which started on Dec. 13, was “Alevis and Sunnis: Searching for Peace and a Future Together.” It was organized by the Journalists and Writers Foundation (GYV), a group affiliated with the Gülen Movement.

As part of the month-long celebration of Ramadan, the Turkish Cultural Center (TCC) of Queens hosted its annual interfaith Ramadan Iftar Dinner July 24 at the Woodhaven Manor. US court gives Gülen 21 days to present his defense
The extradition of U.S.-based Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen was “unofficially” demanded in a civil suit filed last week by lawyers hired by the Turkish government, while a judge who accepted the appeal has given Gülen 21 days to respond to accusations filed against him.
Turkish Day proclamation, celebration planned at Syracuse City Hall
The first Turkish Day in Syracuse will be celebrated at City Hall from noon to 1 p.m. today. Mayor Stephanie Miner will read a proclamation followed by the raising of the flags of the United States and Turkey. The Turkish national anthem will be played. Afterward, folk dances will be performed and Turkish cuisine will be served. Weather permitting, the festivities will be held on the front steps of City Hall, 223 E. Washington St.
