Turkish Deputy PM Ali Babacan visits Turkish, Japanese schools in Sendai

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, during a visit to Japan, on Wednesday visited a Turkish and a Japanese school in Sendai, both of which sustained severe damage in last March’s earthquake and tsunami, the Anatolia news agency reported.
Babacan received a warm welcome by the Japanese students of the Matsugahama elementary school in the town of Shichigahama and of the Turkish Abroad International School. “It is our duty to help Japan, which has always offered a helping hand to Turkey whenever we needed one,” said Babacan, adding that Turkey had received great support from the Japanese government and people after devastating earthquakes struck the eastern province of Van in October and November of this year.

Kazakh President Nazarbayev hails Turkish schools in his country
“The Turkish schools in the country have made a big contribution to expanding the qualified human capital in Kazakhstan,” Nazarbayev was quoted as saying during a visit to Astana’s Nur Orda Kazakh-Turkish High School, where he attended a ceremony marking the start of the 2011-2012 school year in the country.

In recognition of their achievements and contributions, Empathy Educational Institutions, active for about 20 years in Mongolia, were honored with “Top Standard” award among the most effective institutions.

Sherko Hama Amin, a member of the Kurdistan Parliament’s Education Committee, told NRT that schools should not be shut down over political reasons, especially a political issue outside the region.
