Yamanlar and Fatih High Schools’ success at International Science Olympiads

Yamanlar and Fatih Science High Schools won medals at the international physics, chemistry, biology and computer this summer as well.

The Olympiad teams of Yamanlar Science High School in Izmir, and Istanbul Fatih Science High School and Fatih Anatolian High School in Istanbul represented Turkey at the International Science Olympiads in Denmark and Australia this summer.

400 students from 83 countries participated in the 44th International Physics Olympiads in Denmark. Fatih Science High School students Fatih Serdar Sağlam won a silver medal and Bilal Çark won a bronze medal. Serdar Sağlam is now accepted to Bilkent University’s electrical engineering department.

At the International Computer Science Olympiads in Australia, Fatih Science High School students Semih Basrık won a silver medal and Alperen Yakut won a bronze medal. They were both accepted to Bosphorus University through TUBITAK, (Turkish Science and Technology Research Institution) as computer science majors.

Yamanlar Science High School also participated in the 24th International Biology Olympiads in Bern, Switzerland in July. The Olympiad team of 4 students formed by TUBITAK won silver and bronze medals. The two students of the Olympiad team Büşra Nur Delikkaya (bronze) and Akile Mirat (silver) are both from Yamanlar Science High School.

Sebahattin Kasap, CEO of Yamanlar Education Institutions, said; “207 out of 391 medals won so far at the international Olympiads by Turkish student won by Yamanlar Science High School students. We are happy to represent Turkey successfully. We are preparing for the upcoming International Math competitions and we expect that our students will win medals there as well.”
