Fethullah Gülen’s Statement of Condolences and Condemnation for Manhattan Terrorist Attack

Fethullah Gülen: I am deeply shocked and saddened by the atrocious terrorist attack in Manhattan which resulted in the deaths of eight innocent civilians and left 11 others injured. I strongly condemn this despicable and senseless act of violence.
Every single act of terrorism is a blow to humanity everywhere. This attack was not only against New Yorkers and Americans but against universal human values that we all share. I reiterate my categorical condemnation of all forms of terror and violence, which cannot be justified under any circumstance.
I send my sincere condolences to the victims’ families, loved ones and to all people who call New York home. I pray for the quick recovery of the injured and pray to God the Most Compassionate to lead all humanity to a world of peace and tranquility.
Diverse community enjoys feast at Turkic American Alliance iftar
The Turkic American Alliance in Washington, D.C. hosted a traditional iftar dinner, inviting the community to break the day’s fast together. Rep. Turkey’s Wrong Turn
The tensions erupted into the open last month with a corruption probe that led to the resignation of four government ministers and threatened to ensnare Mr. Erdogan’s family. The government has since purged hundreds of police officials and prosecutors and sought to assert control over the judiciary. It also drafted legislation expanding the government’s power to appoint judges and prosecutors, further breaching judicial independence, and has prevented journalists from reporting freely.
A Muslim Cleric That America Should Support
Usually, when Americans hear the term “Muslim cleric,” they cringe. Yet there’s an Islamic religious leader who calls for peace and inter-faith dialogue, whose supporters are being rounded up by an increasingly authoritarian leader. Backing the right leader could be the key in the war against ISIS.

I pray that God, the Most Merciful provide food, shelter, and clothing to those who are hungry, homeless or otherwise in poverty, through the generosity in the hearts of their neighbors and fellow citizens. For those who are suffering from disease or strife, May God end their suffering and provide them comfort.
