Aristides Esteban Hernandez Guerrero from Cuba has won the international cartoon competition titled “Refugees,” which was organized by the Turkish charity organization Kimse Yok Mu.
The “Refugees” competition was organized in order to raise awareness of the difficulties facing migrants who fled their homes to set out on dangerous journeys to Europe.
“We hereby invite all artists who want to draw attention to the refugee problem with their drawings to our cartoon competition,” the announcement on the organization’s website states.
The Samanyolu online news portal reported last Thursday that 1,250 people took part in the competition before its deadline on Jan. 29.

Blanket Drive for Syrian Refugees a Great Success
Paxton Companies estimates 25,000 blankets have been donated and Embrace Relief reports $100,000 in funds have been donated to this cause. Over the past two years more than 40,000 blankets have been collected and $115,000 in funds has been donated. Donations raised for this program will help purchase blankets and supplies in Turkey for the refugees.

Orphanages in Moldova are in the hope that donations by the Turkish people through Kimse Yok Mu continue without interruption.
The officials of the orphan school in the capital Chișinău expressed their gratitude to the foundation, which equipped the school with computers, desks and lab supplies. “I would like to thank Kimse Yok Mu and the Turkish people for their donations. We’re definitely looking forward to more,” the school’s president Yuriy Dontsıu said.
