A total of 278 Pakistani students studying at Turkish schools, which have been operating in Pakistan for 19 years, competed in Pakistani leg of Turkish Olympiads to be qualified to participate in the 13 th International Turkish Olympiads.

Following the national anthems of Pakistan and Turkey, students from many parts of Pakistan competed in four categories–song, poem, grammar and special talent. Sings and poems performed by the students impressed the jury and audience. General Manager of Pak-Turk Schools Ünal Tosun stated that the jury will have difficulty in choosing participants for the final due to their enchanting performances.

In category of song, Manzur Ali came first with Turkish song “Bir Kızıl Goncaya Benzer” and Atıfa Khosa came first in category of poem with “Gitme İstemem”.

Of the 196 countries registered and represented in the United Nations, 150 participated in the 2014 Turkish Olympiad, which amounts to 2,500 finalists. The Olympiad brings together hundreds of foreign students each year from Turkish schools established throughout the world, giving the world’s young people a chance to learn about other cultures and better understand people that come from other countries and have different religions, languages or skin colors.
