The Turkish American Society of Chicago inaugurated its brand new culture center.
The event was attended by prominent politicians, artists and businessmen from the windy city.
The TASC supports multiculturalism and is dedicated to establishing good relations between the American -Turkish diaspora.
Fatih Yildiz, the Turkish Consul General in Chicago, encompassed the philosophy of the society, as he presented the new edifice of culture.
US Congressional representatives expressed their elation at the creation of not merely an architectural model, but the building of tolerance and dialogue.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, released a letter of recognition at the opening of the cultural center.
Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church, Demetrios of Mokissos, summed up the mood at the event, with his praise to the Turkish community.

US Unlikely to ‘Speed Up’ Gulen’s Extradition to Turkey
Turkey has formally requested that the U.S. government extradite Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen from the state of Pennsylvania where he has lived in self-imposed exile for 17 years. Turkey is pushing for quick extradition, suggesting that U.S.-Turkish relations are at stake. But the burden of proof rests squarely on Ankara, and if it cannot sufficiently prove its accusations against Gulen, the extradition request will be refused.
Ramadan Tent brings faiths together in Virginia
American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) held its annual Ramadan Tent on July 17-19 this year. The tent stayed up in the parking lot of Unity of Fairfax Church for 3 consecutive days and hosted approximately around 750 people each evening over Iftar Dinner. Asm. Joint mosque-cemevi project launched in Tokat
Turkey’s first-ever joint mosque-cemevi complex has been under construction in Ankara since last September. The project, which is being carried out by the CEM Foundation and the Hacı Bektaş Veli Culture, Education, Health and Research Foundation, was first suggested by Turkish-Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, who lives in the US in self-imposed exile.
