Fethullah Gulen on attempts to associate Hizmet with terrorism and ISIS

Date posted: May 5, 2017

Translation of Fethullah Gulen’s remarks on ‘ISIS accusation’ that was broadcasted on herkul.org on April 23, 2017.

‘As I have stated earlier, I have long called ISIS, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Murabitun, and many other organizations terrorist, maybe fifty times. And I have said a Muslim cannot be a terrorist; a Muslim can never engage in terrorism.

Now some say, “We have tried all we can to defame them (the Hizmet Movement), over and over again, but we could not. Now let us call them ISIS, perhaps it works this time.”

Do not be surprised if such schemes transpire on your way, for such things are normal in their reasoning – an irrational reasoning that has gone bankrupt. Never doubt that these are illegitimate thoughts of a bankrupt reasoning.’
