Abuja will on May 21 host the Hizmet Movement and commence preparations for the 14th International Festival of Language and Culture aimed at promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Ibo, Efik and other Nigerian tribes.
The movement, led by Fethulah Gulen, has been involved not only in promoting language and culture but the establishment and development of colleges, hospitals, charities and other public institutions across the globe.
It started the International Festival of Language and Culture in 2003 in Turkey with participating students from 17 countries, but today over 37 countries are participating in the festival including Nigeria.
Other countries that hosted the festival include Australia, India, the United States. The theme of the 14th edition slated for Nigeria is; “Colours of the World”, to again celebrate diversity, tolerance and respect.
Deputies: Turkish Olympiads best response to voices against Hizmet
Independent deputies who attended the Pakistani leg of the annual International Turkish Olympiads, held in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Monday evening, have praised the event, stating that the event itself is the best response to unpleasant voices against the Hizmet movement.
Health Screening in Haiti
Embrace Relief and White Tulip Health Foundation organized a health screening at an orphanage in Haiti. Five volunteer doctors from Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey donated their time by traveling to Haiti and providing both orphanage residents and nonresidents with basic health screenings.

Turkish School Awarded ‘Ukraine’s Best School’
Simferepol International School opened by Turkish entrepreneurs in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Ukraine has been listed the top school in the list of the country’s best 100 schools. The school, which opened in 2003, will now appear in a catalogue promoting Ukraine’s best 380 schools. A total of 1,881 schools took part in the competition held in nine branches across the country.
