Turkish school extended help to Turks after earthquake in Nepal

Turkish tourists who were on a vacation in Nepal during a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Kathmandu on Saturday stated that Turkish school in the country used every means available to help them and other earthquake victims.
Around 30 Turkish nationals landed in İstanbul’s Atatürk Airport on Monday. Speaking to the reporters at the airport, they said Turkish schools, established by Turkish entrepreneurs affiliated with the Hizmet Movement, extended help to them.
Couple Levent and İzber Barın said while they were looking for a safe place to accommodate, Turkish school in the country invited them. “They provided us blankets beds and quilts. We slept in the garden; they provided us meal three times a day. We benefited all possibilities of the school. They used every means available to help us,” they said.
Georgia refuses refugee status to detained ‘Gülen school manager’
Georgia’s Ministry of Refugees has refused to grant a refugee status to Mustafa Emre Çabuk, a manager at the Private Demirel College, a school linked to Turkish opposition political figure Fethullah Gülen. Mr Çabuk was detained in Tbilisi on Turkey’s request.

They have been to countries with large Muslim populations in the Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan) and countries with large Christian populations in Europe (Poland, Romania). The research has taken them to between three and five Hizmet schools in Almaty, Astana, Bucharest, Sarajevo, Tirana and Warsaw resulting in nearly 300 interviews.

Kimse Yok Mu’s volunteer doctors on their way for Africa
Kimse Yok Mu Foundation unceasingly continues its medical aid efforts for Africa. Joined by its volunteer doctors with an age average under 50, the foundation is set to provide medical assistance for Tanzanians starting from August 29 thru September 7. In cooperation with the Istanbul-based Ufuk Doctors’ Foundation (UHEK), the volunteers will focus mainly on surgeries. The medical team consists of 15 doctors, one nurse and two coordinators. The doctors will volunteer in gynecology, orthopedics, urology, general surgery, in particular, and neurology, dentistry, family practice, psychiatry and psychology departments.

Ufuk Yünlü, a Turkish mountaineer who was caught on Mount Everest at an altitude of 5,100 meters during last Saturday’s devastating earthquake in Nepal, has been offered shelter at Turkish Meridian International School.
