International Festival of Language and Culture will be organised in the national Capital where students from across the world will indulge in cultural activities to bring about universal harmony.

It is always seen that youth living abroad have opportunity to go on tours to different countries to learn from their culture. But for them to understand the intricacies, International Festival of Language and Culture (IFLC) is being held in various countries since its inception in 2003. This year the IFLC is going to be held in the national Capital where students from across the world are going to participate.

In 2016, IFLC will be organised in 30 countries with over 60 venues. It will take place at Talkatora Stadium on May 7 where school students will sing, dance and act to develop universal harmony and brotherhood. The theme of the14th edition of IFLC event India is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family’. The eminent guest list, which includes Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs; Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Dr Najma Heptullah, Minister of Minority Affairs; Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Arvind Kejriwal, CM, Delhi, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Baba Ramdev and many other dignitaries including MPs, celebrities, spiritual leaders, are going to make this event more colourful and vibrant.

Ashok K Pandey, spokesperson, IFLC, is very delighted on the arrival of IFLC to India, he said: “Language of love is the legacy of India’s Sufis and Saints. It is a country of Ram, Buddha, Nanak, Chishti and Teresa, who are the true apostles of love and peace for entire humanity. IFLC too is an attempt to spread universal peace through our young emissaries (school children). Peace is contagious by nature which can prevail only through our mutual and collaborative efforts.”

The children who will participate from different schools in the Capital include Ahlcon International School, Springdale’s School, Mata Guru ji Public School, Bluebells International School, Tagore International School, The Frank Anthony Public School and many more are the partner schools.

The Educational Endowment Trust with the support of The Ministry of Culture, government of India and United Nation Information Centre India and Bhutan are going to organise the IFLC event for the very first time in India.

This festival (IFLC) is an annual celebration that showcases the range of linguistic talents and cultural diversity from around the world. IFLC started in 2003 with students from 17 countries. IFLC has been organising the language and culture festival for the past 14 years, showcasing both the rich multicultural diversity of our world, as well as the boundless talent of student performers each year at numerous regional events worldwide.

The Art of Living, Arya Samaj, Chinmaya Mission, India Islamic Cultural Centre, Indialogue Foundation, Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Turkish Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Vaidat Legal Services are the supporting organisations for the event.

The 14th IFLC is an ideal platform where youths from diverse cultural backgrounds and nationality can share their ideas and experiences with the whole world to create an environment of peace, harmony and brotherhood.
