Nigeria Turkish College to Host Language, Culture Festival

The Nigeria Turkish International Colleges (NTIC) will play host to Hizmet Movement for the 14th edition of the Festival of Language and Culture tagged “Colours of the World” to promote and showcase notable cultures in Nigeria.

The festival, expected to hold in Abuja, was aimed at promoting language and culture of Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Efik and others.

A statement signed by Mr Cemal Yigit, the head of corporate communications, NTIC, made this known.

It said that the event was meant to celebrate diversity, tolerance, respect and globalise language and culture.

The statement said that the president of the United States, Barrack Obama, who was represented at the Festival of Language and Culture held at Washington DC said the rich cultures and unique histories of global society were brought to life through mesmerising dance and captivating performance.

The Hizmet Movement started the Festival in 2003 in Turkey, with participating students from 17 countries.

However, over 37 countries now used to participate in the festival, including Nigeria.

Other countries that recently hosted the festival comprised Australia, India and the United States of America.
