Spectrum Turkish School in Yas city of Romania moved to its new building on Tuesday with a ceremony.
Turkish schools which have been operating in Romania for 21 years continue to develop. The school which has a capacity of 500 students gained new building.
Director of National Education Cemalia Gavrila emphasized importance of investment into education. “We are building airport and road but if we do not invest into education all of them become useless,” stated Gavrila.
“Children learn freethought in these schools and they also learn how to be producers not consumers. I know the schools in Romania. I witness that.” she added.
There are 10 Turkish schools in the country providing education to over 3,300 students.

Afghan authorities have drafted a deal giving the Turkish government control of more than a dozen schools in Afghanistan affiliated with the exiled cleric Fethullah Gülen. Western and Afghan officials believe the agreement is part of a bargain allowing Afghanistan’s vice-president, Abdul Rashid Dostum, who has been accused of abducting and torturing a political rival, to seek exile in Turkey.

Pakistani minister also stressed the importance of education in terms of its role for the country’s future. “Education is one important thing for the country to move forward. In fact my duty is also to make things better in the field of education in Pakistan. We have a lot of good examples from Turkey and the way Turkey has progressed not only in economy and democracy…Turkey serves as a role model of Pakistan.”
Afghan education minister pledges to open more Turkish schools
The Afghan education minister pledged to increase the number of Turkish-Afghan schools in Afghanistan, opening at least a school in each province as an educational role model.
Turkey’s post-coup crackdown moves overseas
In several cases, Turkey has offered to run the seized institutions, although it is expected to face legal challenges. Kimse Yok Mu, which had more than 200,000 volunteers in 100 countries before being forcibly closed after the coup attempt, is understood to be preparing to take the decision to international courts. Joshua Hendrick, an expert on the Gulen movement said Ankara faced a big challenge when it came to stepping into the shoes of its former allies.
