Turkey’s AKP planning to blame Hizmet movement for Deep State’s crimes

Date posted: June 18, 2015

“The ‘Deep State’s clandestine assassinations are going to be attributed to the Hizmet Movement, the perception that the Hizmet Movement has always been behind such actions will be fostered,” were among the latest allegations by government whistleblower and Twitter phenomenon Fuat Avni – a thorn in the side of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), having revealed many of its top secret plans in the past year.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has had a vendetta against the Hizmet movement inspired by Turkish-Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen ever since its followers allegedly uncovered wide-scale corruption on the part of the AK Party with investigations launched on Dec. 17-25, 2013. Ankara accuses the movement of being a shadowy covert organization that has infiltrated the state apparatus and is intent on toppling the administration, charges denied by the Hizmet movement.

“Actions orchestrated by dark forces within the MİT will also be attributed to the Hizmet movement as well,” Avni added.

Avni had previously alleged that the AK Party would be orchestrating acts of terrorism for the sake of plunging Turkey into chaos and providing justification for an early election, with the hope that it can win back parliament.

Turkish preacher isn’t running terrorist gang

Given the popularity of the Hizmet across the world and lack of evidence that Gülen is indeed linked to terrorism, I believe it will be unequivocally impossible to confirm that the movement is a “separatist terrorist organization,” as claimed by the Turkish president. Gülen always makes a broad social critique of violence, terrorism and racism, while promoting social justice, harmony and peace.

[Alleged] “Coup leader” Gülen’s friendships with the Catholic Church

Erdogan’s propaganda channels and instruments have been referring to Hizmet as the “Gülenist Terror Organisation” for years and over the past months, this full-fledged criminalisation campaign has often seen relations between the Hizmet network and the Catholic Church – including the Vatican – being dragged into it. This has primarily been witnessed in the most staunchly nationalist press channels.
