Executives of TUSKON call on Ghana GCCI

Turkey is to strengthen her business relationship with Ghana and considers the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the conduit. This was disclosed by the Executives of the key Turkish business group, the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) when they paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on 10th September, 2014.

The visit was to discuss matters of mutual benefits, especially in the area of trade and investment. They identified Trade Missions and Fairs as major areas in which TUSKON and GCCI can collaborate.

“Your members can participate in our trade missions and fairs in the following sectors: ready-made garments, automotive and spare parts, household items, forestry, plastics, logistics, electrical appliances, petroleum products, agro-processing business, building materials, foodstuff, medical equipment, machinery, paper, packaging, water treatment, IT systems, furniture etc,” expressed the Executives.

The Executives of TUSKON disclosed turkey’s readiness to expand and cement her ties with Ghana, especially in the area of business. They disclosed that through TUDEC, TUSKON would revive its relationship with the GCCI.

‘Ghana has good opportunities for investment that Turkey can tap into,’ continued the Executives. ‘It is the hub of trade in the sub-region.’ They added that like Turkey, Ghana had a high business friendly environment that favoured the growth of all businesses including SMEs.

The Executives expressed TUSKONS’s readiness for exchange of trade missions and programmes involving both the private and the public sectors. They hinted that TUSKON believed in integration and free and fair trade agreement.

Hon. Dr Seth Adjei Baah, the President of the GCCI, assured the TUSKON Executives of the Chamber’s readiness to assist and collaborate with TUSKON and Turkey to do business in Ghana and Africa as a whole. He also encouraged them to continue do business in Ghana and with the GCCI as the country had stable political and business environments for industries and trade to flourish.
