Message of Condemnation and Condolences for Mass Shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney

Date posted: December 28, 2025

December 14, 2025– We strongly condemn the horrific mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, that targeted the members of the Jewish community who were gathered for a Hanukkah celebration. The attack has taken at least fifteen innocent lives and left many others injured, including police officers who bravely intervened. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wish a swift recovery to all those who were wounded.

Beyond the devastating loss of life, this attack constitutes a grave assault on the fundamental human rights to security, freedom, and the peaceful exercise of religion.

In this painful moment, we stand together with faith communities and all Australians, urging unity, calm, and a renewed commitment to protecting religious freedom and ensuring the safety of every community.
