A group of medical professionals led by the local Environment and Culture Foundation in Kahramanmaras (a province in Turkey) has contributed to water well campaign by Kimse Yok Mu Foundation. Having seen the movie “Selam”, which was in theaters about five months ago, the medical professionals wouldn’t remain indifferent to the challenges the Dark Continent’s people face for a drop of water. From then onwards, the group has mobilized to contribute to water well campaign and recently delivered the 3 thousand dollars they’ve raised to the local Kimse Yok Mu chapter officials.

Secretary-general of Environment and Culture Foundation, Dogan Cokyasa noted that they launched the campaign in order to provide drinking water to those who have to go miles away for a drop of water. “Our fellow medical professionals have mobilized under our foundation to establish water wells in Africa. They handmade key chains to present their friends and asked their donations in return for such an altruist initiative. The continent’s people are dying of epidemics resulting from unhygienic and unhealthy water. What an honor it is to enable them to access clean water,” Cokyasa said.

Kimse Yok Mu Kahramanmaras chapter director Ilhan Ilhan thanked the group for their contributions. Ilhan further reported that the foundation has established to date 4 water wells with sadirvan (a typical Ottoman style fountain with tabs) in Palestine, 114 in Nigeria, 38 in Somalia and 19 in Baluchistan, 14 in Pakhtunkhwa, 1 in Punjab provinces of Pakistan.
