Bank Asya, a leading Turkish financial institution, announced on Sunday that their corporate governance rating had increased in June over its score from last year.
The bank released the figures in an announcement addressed to the Public Disclosure Forum (KAP). According to a recent report prepared by the Capital Markets Board (SPK), Bank Asya’s corporate governance rating increased from 84.20 in June 2013 to 90.85 in June of this year.
The founders of Bank Asya are known for being affiliated with the Hizmet movement, inspired by Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen. News reports circulated earlier this year indicating the government had attempted to sabotage the bank, as corporations with close ties to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan withdrew upwards of TL 4 billion from their accounts, accounting for nearly one-fifth of the bank’s deposits.

What needs to be done is to convey how the Turkish schools are tackling or minimizing many educational problems and, finally, to find out what aspects of the schools’ methods can apply to public schools.
Slanders against Hizmet Movement at highest level, which offends Anatolians
ANFED held a general meeting in Ankara, which brought together 22 associations. After the meeting, Bıyık made some explanations to the reporters on the agenda of the country. Anatolian people are out of sorts due to excessive intervention of the government to the law system, the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) and law-enforcement officers.
Hizmet and self-criticism
Fethullah Gülen stated a few days ago that he made a mistake by supporting the Justice and Development Party (AKP) during the 2010 referendum campaign. Even though, as of today, I do not think that supporting the constitutional amendment package was wrong in itself, it seems that this package has paved the way for the AKP’s growing semi-despotism.
